The Licensed Clinical Supervisor will oversee a team of licensed eligible and unlicensed staff that provide community based behavioral health support through a multitude of services. The primary responsibility of the Licensed Clinical Supervisor is to ensure that staff delivering direct client care adhere to best practices, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines. This is achieved through a combination of direct observation, regular feedback sessions, case reviews, and providing professional development opportunities. With a deep understanding of therapeutic techniques, diagnostic criteria, and intervention strategies, the Licensed Clinical Supervisor must offer critical guidance that aids direct care staff in refining their skills and enhancing their clinical judgment to improve client outcomes. The Licensed Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in organizational leadership by implementing policies, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating training programs. Whether in hospitals, community clinics, private practices, or educational institutions, the Licensed Clinical Supervisors will ensure that clinical services are delivered effectively, ethically, and compassionately, thus safeguarding both the well-being of clients and the integrity of the healthcare system. At times it will be required to step in and fill in for direct reports when they are unavailable to render services to clients in the community. As a content expert, the Licensed Clinical Supervisor will mentor a team on practice standards, quality of interventions, problem resolution, and critical thinking.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Providing clinical supervision and guidance to a team of healthcare professionalsConducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to improve clinical skillsImplementing and monitoring treatment plans for patientsCollaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clientsParticipate in peer-to-peer discussions for service authorization approvalsAssisting in hiring, training, and orientation of new direct care staffResolving any issues or conflicts that may arise within the clinical teamSupervising and monitoring the work of licensed eligible and non-licensed staffDeveloping, implementing, and evaluating behavioral health programs and servicesProviding clinical supervision, guidance, and training to clinicians and staffEnsuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as professional ethical standardsAssessing the clinical needs of clients and facilitating appropriate treatment planningReviewing and approving treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentationConducting regular staff meetings and providing ongoing feedback to clinicians and staffManaging crisis situations and providing clinical consultation as neededParticipating in quality improvement initiatives and efforts to enhance the delivery of behavioral health servicesOther duties as assignedRequirements :
Valid and unrestricted licensure in Virginia as an LCSW or LPC in accordance with state regulations2 years of supervisory experienceStrong behavioral health evaluation skills including risk assessment and common diagnosesStrong understanding and familiarity with levels of care and how to navigate the behavioral health systemExtensive knowledge (5 years or more) of healthcare systems and relevant community resourcesSensitivity to ethnic, cultural, gender, and sexual orientation diversity, values, beliefs, and behaviorsExperience with client centered practices including harm reduction approach and motivational interviewingMust display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies related to behavioral health needs of patientsAbility to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and agenciesSelf-management skills, including ability to prioritize and organizeAbility to work with diverse, safety-net populationSkilled at working alongside difficult to engage patients—build rapport, trustAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, inclusive of organizational skills, time management skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilitiesComputer competency, inclusive of the ability to access and enter data through the electronic medical record system and manage personal email system
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
