Job Title: Planner Estimator
We are seeking experienced Planner/Estimators to support our team at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Engineering and Planning Department.
About the Role:
- Project planning and material planning
- Technical work document development and packaging
- Records management in support of submarine mechanical, electrical or structural systems
Responsibilities:
- Trouble Desk support and engineering technician services
- Development of detailed specifications, material, QA and test requirements, project estimating, material procurement, documents, and technical correspondence
- Ship checks for actual shipboard conditions
- Preparation and development of Task Group Instructions/Technical Work Documents using AIM, AIM-XP, ATIS, SDI, JEDMICS, CITIS, SECNET computer programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 10 years practical engineering experience in operation, test, maintenance and repair of naval ships or equivalent military training and/or experience in a public or private shipyard environment
- Specialized experience for Mechanical position: general knowledge of Main Propulsion Turbines, Snorkel, Shafting, Main Sea Water, Aux Sea Water, Secondary Propulsion, High Pressure Air, Steering/Diving, SSTG Lube Oil, Trim, Drain, Condensate Auxiliary Steam
- Specialized experience for Electrical/Electronic position: general knowledge of Electrical Power Generations (SSTG), Lighting Distribution and Fixtures, AC/DC Switchboards, Radar, Radio, ECM, Sonar, Navigation, Mast and Antenna Superstructure and Fairwater, Pressure Hull, Non-Pressure Hull, Ballast, Tanks, Built-In, Internal Structural Bulkheads, Water Tight Hatches( Pressure Hull), Trucks and Enclosures, Platform, walking Flats, and Non Structural Bulkhead
