This is a full-time, hybrid position. Pay is $19.65/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure daily customer happiness
- Responsible for answering patient inquiries via phone or in-person
- Placing phone calls to customers and facilities to obtain insurance or demographic information
- Verify insurance coverage via insurance websites or phone calls to insurance companies
- Research returned mail to make necessary changes to correct patient insurance and/or demographics
- Enter patient correspondence into the patient account
- Provide support for the yearly membership renewal and application process
- Must follow HIPAA guidelines at all times to protect customer PHI
- Other projects and duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must have a minimum of one year of previous customer service experience in the medical field.
- Ability to type 40 WPM.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Accurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledge including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment
- Must demonstrate positive, respectful behavior in dealing with people at all levels.
- Must be interviewed by a Life EMS designee.
- COVID-19 Vaccination highly encouraged
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
