Shift Available:
- Part Time - 24 hours per week, mixed schedule of days and nights
Responsibilities:
- Oversees Health Services staff in the absence of the Nurse Manager
- Acts as whole house manager on duty at the community
- Directs day-to-day job function duties of resident assistants (STNAs, PCAs) and Nurses
- Makes staffing decisions
- Oversees and monitors the care of the residents
- Conducts resident and associate injury investigations and determines the appropriate resolution
- Handles injury documentation at the time of the incident
- Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director
- Participate in State survey
- Acts as charge nurse as needed, which includes giving and receiving the nursing report upon the start and end of each shift, providing individualized attention, implementing the plan of care, dispensing medication, taking vital signs, and starting mid-line pic line, 1st bag antibiotic, IVs as ordered. Takes cultures and specimens. Reviews and documents activities via MARS and TARS and AOD
- Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials
- Admissions, transfers, and discharge functions as assigned
- Communicates with Doctor(s), families, and other health professionals
Requirements:
- RN or LPN Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 1-year experience as a leader/supervisor in a long-term care community or hospital preferred
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Electronic medical records knowledge preferred (Point Click Care)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
