LIFE Inc is a Lake Management business that specializes in aquatic vegetation control utilizing EPA registered herbicides and algaecides. My firm also installs floating and submerged aeration systems. We currently operate in NY and CT.
I am currently interviewing for an assistant, whose qualifications for the position are as follows:
1. Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age
2. High school diploma
3. A valid and clean drivers license
4. Ability to follow directions
5. Awareness that the majority of the work performed includes the use of
herbicides and algaecides
6. The assistant MUST learn how to row a boat and use a 3 HP outboard engine
which is used most often in the applications.
7. Spending some days cleaning the containers and storage shed
8. Own transportation to and from work place
9. Energetic and willing to learn
The position is labor intensive, carrying and moving heavy boxes, and equipment is necessary for this position.
The assistant is responsible for the following duties:
1. Assisting in the application of lakes and ponds: Major Responsibility
2. Sign posting at each site
3. Daily truck inventory (Loading truck in AM)
4. Daily cleanup of storage area
5. General Maintenance
This position is Full Time summer employment starting in May and continuing through August. I am seeking a person willing to work 5 days per week; alternating Saturdays are required. This position is ideal for a college student seeking summer employment.
The actual working day is approximately 10 hours. The day begins at 7:45 AM, the truck is loaded with all supplies, and then we leave to service the customers scheduled for the day. We do not return until approximately 6PM, traveling from location to location may encompass 2-3 hours of the day.
The major responsibility of this position is the operation of the boat used in the application. The assistant MUST learn to row a boat and use a 3 HP outboard engine, which is used most often. (Willing to train a qualified applicant) 80% of the applications utilize a 12-foot rowboat, and the remaining applications utilize a 16-foot spray boat. The assistant’s responsibility is to drive the rowboat in a manner that allows for a successful application. This is performed by either a gasoline engine, or by rowing. During a spray boat application, the assistant’s responsibility will include posting signs and rinsing containers while the applicator is performing the application.
All employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis. The starting salary is $170 per day, and overtime is paid anytime we are performing applications after 6:00PM. Please email me the following at Dave@lifeincponds.com:
