Position Details:
Life IVF Center is seeking an experienced and talented biologist for a trainee biologist / andrologist role in our IVF laboratory and embryology team. The embryology department is the backbone of our IVF program, and this role is perfect for experienced individuals looking to expand their skill sets as part of one of the top Embryology / IVF programs in the state. Strong preference is given to candidates seeking a long-term career in reproductive health and high-performing candidates will be selected to advance for full embryology training.
This position is open to candidates with a range of prior experience levels. Preferred background would involve some degree of assisted reproductive background with emphasis in clinical andrology and sperm handling but are open to discussion with candidates possessing other forms of experience. This role is primarily based in our Irvine, Orange County location with potential for future work in our Arcadia, LA County office.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in an embryology or related laboratory setting, human preferred
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant health sciences field required
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant health sciences field optional
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Training will require several months to be spent in the primary Irvine headquarters
- Familiarity with EMR software a plus
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to provide world class patient results and experiences
- Assist Embryology staff with performing ART procedures including oocyte retrieval, in-vitro fertilization, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo cryopreservation, embryo thawing, assisted hatching and embryo transfer
- Maintain and update all quality control, quality assurance, and safety logs
- Perform sperm isolation from MESA & TESA specimen, and semen wash for IVF and IUI
- Perform sperm motility analysis or mouse embryo assay for proficiency testing (AAB)
- Data entry and management: Microsoft Excel, lab data compilation
- Manage key laboratory operation and maintenance protocols including reagent media preparation, inventory of lab supplies, and cleaning of incubators and workspace
- Assist with CLIA, OSHA, FDA, CAP, Tissue Bank, and other regulatory duties and inspections
- Adhere to Life IVF Center guidelines as well as all state, federal, and professional regulations
Core Laboratory Skillset:

- Freezing and thawing
Schedule:
This role operates on a 5-6 day per week schedule with shorter working days. Schedule is typically Monday through Saturday with Sundays off with some flexibility regarding five day weeks.
