Position Summary: Life Link III’s Operations Control Specialist emphasizes safety, excellence, and collaboration in its approach to realizing Life Link III’s mission and values.
Our Operations Control Specialist ensures all flights conducted by Life Link III meet established safety protocols and are in compliance with FAA regulations. The OCS works in conjunction with our Communication Specialists assuring coordination of all aspects of Life Link III transports. The OCS is responsible for communicating with flight crews, pilots in command (PIC), weather service, communication centers, hospitals, fixed-base operator (FBO) and other services.
Position Highlights:
- Coordinate with Communication Center Specialists and pilots when conditions indicate risk factors or weather place a base or area under risk
- Verify accuracy of all FAA documents
- Review all flight risk assessments as required with the pilot in command in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations
- Monitor and oversee safe conduct of flight operations
- Coordinate services needed for flights in progress (fuel, hangar space, flight authorizations through restricted areas)
- Provide weather updates to flights in progress
- Monitor crew duty time limitations, currency requirements, and aircraft status to assure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)
- Maintain currency of all operation manuals and regulatory requirements
- Understand and utilize all appropriate features of radio, telephone equipment, and other equipment updates as they are installed
- Responsible for supporting company Safety Management System activities

What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of FAA and other regulatory requirements
- 2 years’ experience as helicopter or airplane pilot, flight navigator, air traffic controller (ATC), meteorologist, or air ambulance communication center flight follower required
- Team oriented and work effectively with customers
- Professional and efficient written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret aviation weather information
- Must be able to respond quickly and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work scheduled overnight shifts
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and daily computer use
- Knowledgeable in the principles and applications of air medical resource management
- Build a working knowledge of CFR 14, 135, and Life Link III’s General Operations Manual (GOM)
- FAA Commercial/Instrument certificate preferred
- FAA Dispatcher certificate preferred
- Other duties as assigned.
