PURPOSE

 

This position reports to the VP of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The Assistant Director of Recruitment designs,   develops, manages, and implements recruitment plans/goals and outreach practices that meet the immediate and long-range enrollment goals of the university. The Assistant Director of Recruitment provides onsite leadership to the Admissions Student Workers. The Assistant Director of Recruitment will be an articulate, organized, dynamic, and enthusiastic team player. 

  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment Coordination:

  • Recruitment Outreach: Conduct outreach activities to attract prospective students, including generating opportunities for participation in college fairs, high school visits, and community events.
  • Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and coordinate recruitment events such as Preview Days, open houses, information sessions and campus tours. This includes arranging logistics, coordinating staff and volunteers, and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.
  • Prospective Student Follow Up: Coordinate prospective students follow up strategy after recruitment events.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts and develop partnerships.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with admissions counselors, and other team members to ensure a coordinated and seamless recruitment process, share best practices, and provide support as needed.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel and/or manage counselors and student workers travel schedule and logistics to attend recruitment events, college fairs, and conferences, representing the institution and promoting its programs and services.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on recruitment activities, applicant trends, and conversion rates to assess the   effectiveness of recruitment strategies and inform decision-making.
  • Serve as a back-up for admissions counselors as needed.

Admission Counselor:

  • Establishes and maintains contact with prospective students throughout the admissions cycle in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clearly articulates the mission and value of LPU to prospective students.
  • Conducts personal consultations to qualify prospective students on their educational goals and interests, to explain available academic programs, to advise them on admission requirements, and to ensure that all admission paperwork is completed properly. Provides more in-depth consultations for undecided students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Lead Management and CRM/Systems Update:

  • Effectively enters and manages data within Slate database including logging calls, activities, and engagements. 
  • Manage LPU Visit Inbox.

Professionalism, Teamwork and Leadership:

  • Work collaboratively with other departments within the   university to support a seamless transition from the point of inquiry through enrollment; assist with developing and implementing processes and procedures to continually improve services to students. 
  • Supervision of Admissions student worker team.
  • Promote and maintain high levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positive morale in the department. 
  • Mentor and coach admissions staff members to guarantee high quality outcomes when necessary.
  • Empower the strengths of all team members and flex individual style to most effectively mentor and manage team members in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Coordinate the training of other department staff on recruitment processes.
  • Serve on university committees and working groups as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

NOTE: Though not required, this position is optionally eligible for appointment as a Foursquare minister under certain conditions. If appointed as a minister, the employee will be available to provide pastoral care and prayer. In addition, s/he may be called upon to   perform sacerdotal duties upon request of the University.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, plus at   least 3-5 years of relevant experience in admissions, Slate, recruitment and/or related area. 

Knowledge and Skills

  • A vibrant and authentic Christian faith and worldview consistent with the University’s Statement of faith which all employees are required to sign.
  • Two or more years in higher ed admissions role including knowledge of LPU recruitment activities, admissions procedures and university policies is required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication  skills, with the ability to engage and connect with prospective students and   their families.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, applicant tracking systems, and other admissions-related software.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to provide accurate and helpful information to prospective students.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Working Conditions and Environments:

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as travel to attend recruitment events. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
