Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a strong background in corporate and governmental accounting, as well as proficiency in financial software and payroll systems.

Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.
- Prepare and submit tax filings related to payroll, including quarterly and annual reports.
- Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of payroll-related accounts in the general ledger.
- Perform journal entries related to payroll transactions and adjustments.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to manage employee benefits and deductions accurately.
- Assist in audits related to payroll processes and provide necessary documentation as required.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect payroll processing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting is essential.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements related to payroll processing.
- Proficiency in Paychex or similar payroll software is preferred.
- Experience with financial software for general ledger accounting is required.
- Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with journal entries related to payroll transactions is necessary.
- Previous experience working closely with Human Resources is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential for success in this role.
