What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Specialist position at Life Rediscovery Center, LLC?
Certified Peer Specialist must have completed the training and be certified by the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network. No other Peer Specialist Certification will be accepted (this includes national certification).
Under general supervision, the peer specialist wll:
- provide interventions which promote socialization, recovery, wellness, self-advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills.
- teach clients the skills needed to manage their mental health symptoms and utilize community resources
- assist with relapse prevention planning
- promote self-directed recovery by exploring individual purpose beyond the identified mental illness
Qualifications:
- Must have completed the certified peer specialist training with Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network.
- Must be able to document in electronic medical records
- Must have reliable transportation.
License/Certification:
- Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Peer Certification (Required) - No other certification is acceptable
