Position Description

The Billing Specialist will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and manage the process of billing for services provided by Life’s Journey. The Billing Specialist will complete office functions including billing and organizing related financial paperwork.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Minimum Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.

· A valid driver’s license and personal automobile, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile insurance

· Successful State Background Check

· Current TB screening

Knowledge of:

· Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task

· Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Verify billing insurance eligibility of all clients served at least twice monthly (on the 2nd and 20th of each month)

· Keep track of all service authorization dates and remaining units

· Notify program supervision when units are fulfilled and when authorizations end

· Create and maintain weekly spreadsheet for billing of MHSS and ACT

· Bill for Assessments, MHSS, and ACT weekly

· Create and maintain spreadsheet for billing of Comprehensive Crisis Services

· Collaborate with Crisis Coordinator to bill for Comprehensive Crisis Services twice a month

· Create and maintain monthly spreadsheet for billing of SU Residential Services

· Submit outpatient therapy claims weekly

· Reconcile claim issues and all billing weekly

· Maintain the client information in Billing Software as it changes

· Correspond with insurance companies about billing and service authorizations

· Other tasks as assigned

· File billing documentation weekly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
