Position purpose Life Safety Services Inspectors inspect, install and repair passive fire products
such as fire and smoke dampers and provide services that deliver solutions that give our
customers peace of mind.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
• Testing the operability of fire & smoke dampers in healthcare and commercial facilities
per the National Fire Protection Association code
• Making non-accessible dampers accessible
• Providing accurate documentation for customer code compliance
• Maintain professional, timely communication with customers
• Attend Job Training Sessions
• Openness to learning additional passive fire protection services
Life Safety Inspector
• Complete online courses required by the company
Qualifications
• Valid Driver License
• 21 years of age (insurance reason)
• Background & drug test
• Travel – Minimum 10 days gone, 4 day- home rotation
• Must provide own tools
• Professional appearance
Minimum Requirements
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and
coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• Experience in customer service and working with the public
• Experience in mechanical, HVAC, hanging ductwork, electrical repair and installation
preferred, but not required
• Experience and comfort using hand tools
• Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
• Ability to interpret blueprints, life safety drawings, etc.
• Must have ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders,
scaffolds and high-lift equipment with maximum load of 250 lbs
• Must be able to work in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings that all have limited
space
• Good recordkeeping and tracking of inspections in facilities
• Some knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel and Email)
