LSS Holdings, one of the fastest growing companies in the region, seeks a Vice President of Accounting and Finance to provide executive leadership and oversight of its accounting and financial functions. The Vice President of Accounting and Finance is a member of the senior management team and reports directly to the President of LSS Holdings.
- Provides strong leadership of all accounting and finance functions, including all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and bank reconciliation
- Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing and manages year-end audit preparation
- Conducts financial analyses and provides weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting for all LSS Holdings entities (Life Safety Services and Hughes Environmental) for the President and the senior management team
- Ensures job costing is regularly performed, senior management is aware of each service line’s profitability and that pricing on services and products are regularly reviewed and adjusted when appropriate
- Manages invoicing, working in consultation with members of the Operations teams
- Provides guidance to the President and to the Sales and Marketing teams on pricing the company’s services
- Conducts financial post-mortem analysis on large projects
- Effectively manages cash flow and stays abreast of receivables
- Leads the budget development process each year, closely monitors the budget lines throughout the year and conducts monthly and quarterly budget vs actual review sessions with the senior management team
- Monitors the company’s financial performance and makes recommendations to the senior management team on ways to increase revenues and decrease costs.
- Works closely with the President and Human Resources to develop effective compensation plans
- Participates in strategic planning sessions with the President and the senior management team and uses their expertise to help the company reach its long-term financial goals
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
Seven to ten years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
Comfortable and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and other accounting software; experience using NetSuite preferred
Attention to detail, forward thinking and an ability to see the big picture in the company and in the industry
Self-directed and exceptional leadership abilities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills
Capacity and willingness to explain accounting and financial concepts, including metrics to determine profitability, to non-financial managers
