We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to be a Nursing Director at our Free Standing Emergency Room.

The DON must be able to manage people diplomatically and at the same time be able to take directive from upper management. Must be able to take responsibility for scheduling a 24 hr. facility and must also be responsible for maintaining licensing compliance.
The DON will support the goals and core values of the medical facility, and will do so by facilitating the development of all Emergency Room Nurses. The DON will foster a productive work environment throughout the ED, in order for each and every staff member to achieve excellence in their clinical practice and deliverance of care. The DON will be responsible for creating and implementing policies that are needed by management/ownership group of Life Savers ER.
The DON will assess the learning needs and potential areas of improvement within the Emergency Department. He/She will then strategize, develop and implement educational activities utilizing evidence-based methods to promote and enhance the clinical practices. The DON will evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and tailor future activities in a way that promotes optimal success.
In addition to being an advocate for Nursing Excellence, the DON will have scheduling responsibilities, direct supervision of all ER Staff Nurses, employee management and conflict resolution, among many other tasks. The DON will serve as a model and mentor to all employees, and will demonstrate their clinical excellence and excitement to engage with staff members.

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently to patients which may include patients with varied and complex needs from trauma or illness that requires emergency attention to less complex acuity cases. The Registered Nurse must be able to work with limited supervision and may assume leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but is not limited to serving as charge nurse or preceptor to new employees. Emergency nurses - ER Nurse must possess knowledge about healthcare on general and specific levels and provide quality care to patients of all ages.

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Must have recent emergency room experience not less than 6 months;
- Maintain skills and knowledge in the advancement of techniques, and protocols;
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise;
- In good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Language SkillsAbility to read and write in English, analyze, and interpret written company policies, manuals, protocols and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports in a concise and organized manner.
