Life Skills Village, a Division of Mind Health Group, is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility, specializing in the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive treatment of individuals - adults, children, and adolescents - who have persistent psychiatric and mental health conditions, traumatic brain injuries or other catastrophic injuries, organic neurological issues, chronic pain, chronic medical conditions, among other complaints. Our treatment program includes occupational and physical therapy, psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, speech-language pathology, and vocational rehabilitation to aid in our clients progressing towards their highest level of functioning and overall improved quality of life and independence.
Job Description
As a growing facility accredited by The Joint Commission, we are seeking a Job Coach or Vocational Counselor to join our team! The Job Coach will help maintain our high standard of care and safety as they work under the guidance of our licensed Occupational Therapists to create meaningful work for patients looking to reenter the workforce. LSV Sheltered Workshop: The Life Skills Village Sheltered Workshop provides meaningful employment to individuals with moderate to severe neuro trauma (brain injuries, strokes and aneurysms). The sheltered workshop is designed to be a stepping stone to prepare patients for competitive work. Our patients perform appropriate tasks that benefit a larger cause. Examples of their purposeful work includes assembling hygiene kits and distributing them to the homeless; collecting, sorting and washing clothing that is donated to Veterans groups; and working on numerous other projects for local non-profit groups.
Responsibilities: The Job Coach will assist patients in their activities within the workshop and community while observing and correcting for any anti-social behaviors.
- Provide job coaching in community vocational settings including transportation as needed
- Provide verbal behavior redirection and prompting to engage in vocational tasks
- Coordinate with treating clinicians to align daily activities with treatment plans and patient goals
- Assist in maintaining accurate work schedules
- Assist the Workshop Manager with daily duties including providing support and supervision during work shifts
- Tracking employee behaviors and active work hours and providing daily notes to clinicians
- Maintaining safety according to Joint Commission standards

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience preferred
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to withstand potential extended periods of walking, standing, or lifting
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
