Hospice Chaplain

**Job Overview:** Life Source Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a Chaplain, you will play a crucial role in providing spiritual care and support to patients and their families facing terminal illness. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients are met with integrity and compassion. **Duties:** - Provide spiritual guidance and emotional support to patients and their families throughout their end-of-life journey. - Conduct religious services, prayers, and rituals according to individual beliefs and preferences. - Offer bereavement support to families during the grieving process. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop holistic care plans for patients. - Lead discussions on faith, life, death, and other spiritual matters. - Assist in event planning for memorial services and other spiritual gatherings. - Mentor staff on spiritual care practices and provide education on end-of-life issues. - Manage crisis situations with empathy and understanding. - Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions and care provided. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Certification or licensure as a Chaplain preferred. - Proven experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare or hospice setting. - Strong communication skills with the ability to listen actively and empathetically. - Excellent writing skills for documenting patient interactions and creating spiritual resources. - Leadership qualities to guide others in spiritual matters. - Ability to present effectively in group settings. - Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices. - Understanding of crisis management techniques in a healthcare environment.
