Job description
The Quality Assurance Engineer documents incoming material and process inspection plans, performs inspections as needed, plans and documents first article inspections, resolves material review board activities, and reviews engineering designs for quality concerns. The quality assurance engineer maintains the calibration status of all tools and equipment used in production.
Job Duties Include:
- Develop and record in-process inspection plans. Store plan documents per AS9100d system.
- Develop and record incoming inspection processes. Store plan documents per AS9100d system.
- Support operations by performing inspections on incoming material as needed
- Implement lot sampling techniques as required to streamline inspection operations
- Develop and record incoming material test plans
- Process discrepancies in accordance with LSI Quality Management System (QMS)
- Document and store developed test procedures IAW AS9100d system requirements
- Resolve and document discrepant material issues
- Chair the MRB and assure issues are resolved and documented
- Work with suppliers and engineering to achieve technical solutions to discrepant material
- Continuously improve processes and procedures related to inspection documentation
- Participate in engineering development process to assure compliance with quality needs
- Are suppliers / operators capable of achieving results?
- Are dimensions and part descriptions able to be inspected?
- Work with key suppliers, understand their capabilities and limitations. Resolve issues.
- Drive repeat failures to zero
- Interactively develop inspection and test plans to minimize need for incoming inspection
- Develop First article inspection (FAI) plans as required by contracts
- Compliant with AS9102
- Work with key suppliers for FAI activities beyond LSI capabilities
- Continuously improve operations by reducing the need for inspection activities while improving quality.
- Effective implementation of lot sampling
- Effective implementation of source inspection
Skills Required:
- Bachelors degree or better in an engineering discipline
- Microsoft Excel, Adobe suite, ERP system operations, Quality database system operations
- Quality inspection and measurement
- Ability to read and decipher engineering drawings
- Read and write in English
- Technical communications with operators, engineers and supplier quality personnel
- User-level experience in Solidworks engineering design software
- Minimum of 2 years in a Quality Engineering role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
