Position Summary
The Metabolic Technician administers Active Metabolic Assessments and designs conditioning plans for members. These assessments establish personalized heart rate zones and help guide individualized conditioning program design.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Service Active Metabolic Assessment appointments for members : Collect AMA data, explain assessment results, and set up 4-6 weeks of individualized conditioning workouts for participants to follow.
Follow protocol to help keep Active Metabolic Assessment equipment in clean and working order & monitor mask inventory. Communicate any needs with PTL as needed.
Answer pre-appointment and post-appointment questions from Active Metabolic Assessment participants & communicate results and recommendations to the participant’s trainer, if applicable.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Certified Personal Trainer, Small Group Training Instructor, or Large Group Training (studio) instructor
CPR Certified
3 months as a Fitness Professional at Life Time (Personal Trainer, Small Group Training Coach, Large Group Studio Performer)
Requires having open appointment times based on member demand, often during prime-time member traffic hours
Able to move exercise equipment (rowers, bikes, etc) as needed to set it up with the assessment equipment
Ability to bend down, stand / reach up, utilize a laptop, assist in placing a mask and heart rate strap on a participant, and use a pump to purge umbilical cords
Ability to see, hear, and speak
Preferred Qualifications
Organized in how to assess, build, and coach members through effective, individualized programs
Experienced in program design to build aerobic fitness, guide body composition change, and elevate physical performance
Familiar with various Life Time technology systems (Life Time member App, in-club LT-Connect, heart rate monitors, Outlook, Exerp)
Willing to learn and teach, leading by example (i.e. personally use and apply the principles of cardio conditioning through assessment-driven, structured programs).
