The Head Coach – Men’s Lacrosse is responsible for all aspects that relate to the Men’s Lacrosse program, as well as the ongoing recruitment of and development of student-athletes at Life University. The Head Coach performs responsibilities in alignment with the department vision of being a leading institution in performance and meaningful student-athlete experience, and consistently demonstrates valued behaviors of respect, grit, constant growth, and integrity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Execution of business deliverables:
- Successful planning and monitoring of program budget
- Plan and execute fundraising initiatives
- Oversee scholarship distribution to student athletes within allotted parameters
- Maintain required roster size
- Execution of performance deliverables:
- Maintain a competitive program with success in postseason
- Ensure a high level of academic engagement and performance in the classroom, resulting in a team GPA as set by the Director of Athletics, and the graduation of student-athletes
- Perform all team-related and department-required administrative duties
- Coach/supervise daily practices
- Schedule games
- Oversee all recruiting efforts – includes planning and supervising all correspondence between coaches, students, and parents in regard to potential visits by athletes to Life University
- Coordinate and supervise any scheduled off-season events, programs, or camps
- Organize safe team travel
- Hold student-athletes to high standard of community living
- Hire/terminate/manage any staff, work study, managers, or volunteers associated with the program
- Order/maintain necessary equipment for the program
- Coordinate with Sports Information Director to ensure team information gets reported accurately and timely
- Collaborate proactively with Athletic Care, Sport Chiropractic, Performance Nutrition, and S&C staff to ensure a healthy student-athlete development
- Work collaboratively with all department coaches and staff members to ensure a supportive environment
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Qualifications
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least one year of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
- Ability to demonstrate overall business acumen.
- Basic knowledge of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) rules and regulations.
- Ability to interact effectively in a collegial environment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
CPR/AED certified
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in coaching and recruiting experience
- Working knowledge and understanding of NAIA/NCAA rules and policies
- Proficient with statistical/scoring software programs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift/carry/relocate equipment and supplies to various locations for athletic events
- Ability to drive to various locations
- Ability to demonstrate skills/techniques to student-athletes
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work performed in various locations in and around the Life University campus, including athletic fields and gymnasiums
- Travel required
- Weekend & evening work is required. Must be flexible to accommodate a fast-paced and time demanding profession
