Position Overview & Impact: The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding to support LIFEBLOOD Foundation's mission of creating comprehensive web-based awareness, education, and coaching/mentoring programs for individuals suffering from chronic diseases, beginning with chronic kidney disease. This position will lead the organization's grant strategy, research funding opportunities, and develop compelling proposals to sustain and expand our impact. As Grant Writer, you will directly contribute to LIFEBLOOD Foundation's financial sustainability and growth, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our impact for individuals living with chronic conditions. Your successful grant procurement will fund crucial educational resources, coaching programs, and technological infrastructure that empowers patients to better manage their health and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sources aligned with LIFEBLOOD's mission and programs
- Develop and write persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Create a strategic grant calendar and manage application timelines to ensure on-time submissions
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information about existing and planned initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of all grant submissions, awards, and reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and potential funding partners
- Write compelling impact reports for existing funders highlighting program outcomes and successes
- Stay current on emerging trends in healthcare funding, chronic disease management, and digital health education
- Support the development of evaluation metrics that demonstrate program effectiveness
- Coordinate with the leadership team to ensure grant proposals align with organizational strategic goals
- Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, submissions, and outcomes
- Assist in creating fundraising materials that can be used across multiple platforms and campaigns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; preferably in English, Communications, Public Health, Non-profit Management, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in healthcare or education sectors
- Proven track record of successful grant procurement, particularly in securing five and six-figure grants
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong understanding of grant application processes and funder requirements
- Experience with budget development for grant proposals
- Knowledge of chronic disease management, patient education, or healthcare initiatives preferred
- Proficiency with grant management software and database systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with program staff and communicating with funders
- Understanding of program evaluation and outcome measurement
- Ability to translate complex healthcare concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Experience with federal grants (NIH, CDC, HRSA, etc.) a significant plus
This is a full-time, in-office position located in Littleton, Colorado near C-470/Broadway. Benefits include flexible schedule, vacation, casual dress, and available health, dental and vision insurance plans.
