Dietary Aide-Union-Lev Job Description
The Dietary Aide-Union-Lev plays a vital role in the Food and Nutrition department at Levindale Hospital. This part-time position requires a commitment to weekends, with varying hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine manual tasks on the patient tray line, nourishment area, kosher kitchen, sanitation, and retail functions.
- Set up service areas with all necessary items, including food, menu items, utensils, paperwork, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and other service ware.
- Maintain a clean and compliant environment, adhering to food safety and storage regulations.
- Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude through appearance, verbal interactions, body language, and initiative.
- Comply with the uniform policy of the Dietary Department and Levindale's dress code.
- Use proper phone etiquette when answering calls, identifying the work area and oneself.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of job responsibilities, including serving unseen customers.
- Support initiatives to increase resident/patient satisfaction related to meals and dining.
- Participate in mandatory inservice training.
- Sustain a Kosher kitchen as directed by Rabbinical Supervisors.
- Leave work areas orderly, clean, stocked, and ready for the next user.
- Ensure compliance with cleaning, sanitation, food safety, and work safety practices.
- Practice 'clean as you go' procedures and maintain a completely clean work environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Properly use personal protective equipment, including gloves, shoes, goggles, face masks, and heat-resistant gloves.
- Understand and support regulatory compliance regarding food temperatures, dish machine final rinse temperatures, post-sink sanitizer parts per million, and refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
