What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIETARY AIDE-UNION-LEV position at LifeBridge Health?
Summary
Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in the Food and Nutrition department regarding the patient tray line, nourishment area, kosher kitchen, sanitation, and/or retail functions. Duties performed will vary depending on specific area assigned.
Employee takes responsibility for the set-up of a Dietary Service area. Service are is set-up with all of the needed items for service including but not limited to all food and menu items, utensils, paperwork, cleaning supplies, paper goods and other service ware. Service area is set-up neatly and in compliance with all regulations and recommendations for food safety and storage. Service area is set-up on time to meet the service requirements of customers and of the Dietary Supervisors and Managers.
The employee demonstrates through appearance, verbal interactions, body language and initiative, a positive customer service attitude which enhances the service commitments of the Department and Levindale. The employee complies with the uniform policy of the Dietary Department and with the Levindale dress code. The employee responds to customers promptly, in a friendly manner, with eye contact, a smile, with appropriate and prompt verbal responses and a willingness to meet the customers expectations. The employee uses proper phone etiquette, identifying the work area and themselves when answering the phone and properly explaining wait or hold time to customers. The employee demonstrates through competent and orderly job performance an understanding of all of the job's customers including the unseen customer.
Is educated in the Mission, Vision and Values of Levindale and LifeBridge and promotes those Mission, Vision and Values. Maintains Kosher kitchen as directed by Rabbinical Supervisors. Participates in initiatives to increase Resident/Patient satisfaction as it relates to meals and dining. Completes all mandatory inservice training. Supports, as directed, Eden Alternative and Neighborhood Concept aspects of resident and staff life at Levindale.
The employee understands the importance of teamwork to the proper and efficient functioning of the Dietary Department. The employee completes all of the daily tasks on the employee's job flow. The employee willingly accepts additional tasks as assigned by a Manager and/or Supervisor. The employee willingly explains job responsibilities and best practices to new members of the team. The employee leaves the work area orderly, clean, stocked and ready for the next user.
The employee complies with all cleaning, sanitation, food safety, and work safety practices to ensure that the Department is always compliant with all regulatory standards. The employee practices "clean as you go" procedures and leaves the work area completely clean and survey ready. The employee complies with standards for Hair restraints, gloves, aprons and personal hygiene. The employee properly uses all personal protective equipment including, but not limited, to safety gloves, safety shoes, goggles, face masks, heat resistant gloves and pot sink gloves. The employee understands and supports regulatory compliance on food temperatures, dish machine final rinse temperatures, post sink sanitizer parts per million, and refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
