JOB SUMMARY: Provides quality clinical nutrition services to promote and maintain patient health for patients of the Infectious Disease Ambulatory Center (IDAC) through the Ryan White Part A grant. Provides medical nutrition therapy for all patients in accordance with physician orders, hospital policies. Functions as a member of a Multidisciplinary Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts comprehensive nutrition risk screening and assessment and collects documentation for IDAC patients referred to them by medical providers/Ryan White Part A clients receiving Medical Nutrition Therapy services.
- Conducts eligibility assessments for Ryan White Part A services (income, residency, eligibility, consent); gathers required documentation and tracks eligibility on a monthly basis; maintains client files.
- Provides medical nutrition therapy education to Ryan White Part A Medical Nutrition Therapy clients.
- Maintains a commitment to professional growth, expanding knowledge base and developing skills, especially in the area of nutritional care and support for patients with HIV/AIDS.
REQUIREMENTS: Three-Five years’ experience; Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field required. Education Discipline: Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods and Nutri Licenses and Certification: Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license required.
