About the unit:
- Newly constructed 19-bed closed observation unit – focus on the following diagnoses:
- Chest pain, Syncope, COPD Astha Exacerbation, Pneumonia, TIA, UTI, AKI, Dizziness & Peripheral Vertigo, ESRD and Missed Dialysis, Cellulitis and Intractable Nausea and Vomiting.
- Plan of care focused on discharging patients safely with protocolized care pathways within 24 hours
- Increased nurse autonomy in facilitating care plan with support of Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse
- Designated provider team (MDs/ APPs) available with Care Management support
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of secretarial support functions to assist the physician and other clinical staff in the emergency department.
- Performs a variety of clerical responsibilities to support the department staff.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and a willingness to provide assistance to all patients, families and coworkers.
- Maintain and process medical records for all department visits.
- Work with various departments within the facility to coordinate supplies and repairs of equipment.
- Demonstrates teamwork through collaboration and working cooperation within own department and other departments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 3 years of experience preferred.
- Competency with basic computer skills and programs
- Familiar with medical terminology
