LifeBridge is hiring full-time Direct Support Specialists to serve in our adult services and as a fill in for youth, as needed. This position offers a minimum of 30 flexible hours per week providing direct support during community-based outings and after school enrichment, as needed. The weekly schedule will vary with 4-5 days per week that may include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts lasting 4 to 8 hours. The position requires staff to drive an agency van for the event route.
Weekly responsibilities in the adult program include, providing transportation to/from outings in accessible agency vehicles, ensuring personal support needs are met (mobility, communication, meal time, restroom, behavior modification), leading small group activities to promote independence and social skill development and completing pre/post outing documentation.
If needed as a fill in staff, responsibilities in the after school enrichment program include, assisting the Lead to promote student engagement, independence and social skills development, ensuring personal support needs are met (mobility, communication, snack time, restroom oversight, behavior modification), and providing oversight.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- This role requires a commitment to work multiple shifts per calendar month in the Out and About adult program, including days, evenings, and weekends, and as needed, in Leaders Club, the after school enrichment program.
- 1 years of experience providing individualized support to people with disabilities.
- Complete physical tasks including supporting 75 lb, kneeling, squatting, and bending to provide individualized supports to clients.
- Evidence of an excellent driving record per the DMV.
- Pass a standard industry background check including a Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Family Care Safety Registry check.
- Qualify under the requirements for controlled substance testing as required by MoDOT and the FTA, including a pre-employment drug test.
- Hold a Missouri Class E license (within 30 days of employment).
- Complete on-line Relias Training (ex: Abuse and Neglect, Universal Precautions) within 7 days of hiring.
- Completion of field work training (within 30 days of hiring).
- Proficient in use of navigation tools such as GPS, MapQuest, and maps.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- 1 years of supervisory experience.
- Hold a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Hold or be working towards a degree in Recreation, Education, Human Services, Therapy Services or other related field of study.
- Knowledgeable of basic sign language, using AAC devices, and Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Certification in MANDT, Medication Administration and/or CPR, First Aid,
