Highlights of your role:
The Universal worker is a trained employee who functions as a member of the direct care team but who may not be qualified to perform certain duties. The Universal worker will be provided training on the tasks they can do without additional certification or credentials. The Universal Worker is a LifeCare employee assisting in a re-allocation of duties during an emergent situation. The Universal worker may have a variety of different skillsets or backgrounds, but will be appropriately trained for the work assigned. For example, if UW is not active on MN NAR Registry, UW will not complete tasks such as ADLs or toileting. If UW is a trained therapist, UW may assist residents with ambulation, range of motion or other exercise programs.

What you’ll get to do in this role:
Asks residents meal preferences, collects meal tickets, delivers meal trays
Assists residents with setting up meal, tray, cut up meat, pour drinks, gather condiments, etc, assists residents with cleaning their hands before and after meals
Picks up trays after meals, cleans resident’s table and meal area
Provides light housekeeping in resident rooms, as well as on corridors, pods, communal areas or kitchenettes. Sweeps, mops, wipes counters, sinks, doorknobs, handrails, or high traffic surfaces or areas as needed
Assists with laundry, washing, drying, folding or hanging, or delivering garments to resident’ rooms
Assists residents with activities formal or informal, one to ones or any other type of activity
May assist with thinning charts, scanning documents, filing, sorting or organizing records
Restocks housekeeping closets, carts, nursing supply closets, etc
Tidies resident rooms, may assist with special cleaning or organization such as cleaning closets out, organization clothing or other resident’ items, cleaning out drawers, etc.
Tasks are completed in a manner that meets the resident’s physical, mental and psychosocial needs and enables the individual to attain or maintain the highest practicable level of functioning.
Assists residents with feeding, if qualified to do so
Assists with other care & ADL tasks, if qualified to do so
