General Description:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible to assist with the day-to-day operations of the dispatch and call center. Must be able to provide a high level of customer service to all customers; internal and external. Follow LifeCares SOGs along with the directives of management and the executive leadership team.
Functions:
- Assist with monthly schedules and monitor shifts on daily basis
- Maintains accountability for personnel and enforce tardy and absentee policies
- Maintain minimum and acceptable levels of staffing for departments to include tracking and monitoring of overtime
- Complete daily staffing report for upper management
- Review of daily timecards, verify for accuracy and timely submission of payroll
- Responsible for employee photos, TIMS compliance, expiring certifications and compliance requirements for staff
- Assist with interviewing potential staff and making recommendations to HR on hiring
- Maintains appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned shifts.
- Keeps informed of departmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures all calls are handled in a timely fashion and all discrepancies are reported to the appropriate department head or manager.
- Ensure communication department operates professionally Completion of probationary and annual reviews
- Ability to handle disciplinary actions and personnel issues
- Ensure staff is adequately trained to perform functions within department other duties assigned.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of EMS industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to include:
- Speaks clearly over the telephone and radio Ability to use computer proficiently
- Types minimum of 30 WPM
- Able to communicate verbally with subordinates and supervisors/managers Ability to make fast and accurate decisions
- Ability to work in a high stress environment Flexible with shift/schedule assignments
- Ability to adapt, handle complex situations, and prioritize projects/assignments in a timely manner Ability to multi-task, observe situations analytically and objectively while relaying details accurately Skills in reading and interpreting maps to determine locations of facilities, units and/or crews.
- Ability to work alone and successfully work a shift without immediate assistance or supervision.
Certifications:
- EVOC Certification
- CPR Certification
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800b Certifications Hazmat Certification
- Virginia Driver's License with no negative points on driving record
- US citizen or legal alien
- No felony convictions within the last five years
- Minimum of high school diploma (college graduate preferred)
