LifeConnections is a behavioral health care provider with residential programs all across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. We primarily serve adults with developmental disabilities and complex mental health conditions.

Position: Community Based DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Compensation: $18.00/Hour, plus $15/day, per client for transportation!

Location: Palmyra, ME Region

Schedule:

Full Time, 40 Hours/Week

Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Client Description:

We are seeking a home and community-based DSP to work one on one with two individuals in the same home. One (female in her late 30's) and the other (male in his early 50's) in the Palmyra area. We are looking for someone who is very active and highly motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to offer the positive encouragement and redirection that is necessary to support them. Duties will include transporting to medical appointments, errands, grocery shopping, providing supportive decision making, and the occasional outing for socialization. They have requested that their support person be willing to have some flexibility to be able to flex time off during the week to be able to offer them support during the occasional night out for social activities or an occasional weekend activity, averaging 1-2 times per month. Verbal prompts and reminders for ADLs are needed as well as assistance with household upkeep and organization. They will need assisting/modeling in household upkeep. She has expressed that she would enjoy learning to meal plan and cook, practicing ASL, the CCMA and wrestling. He enjoys rebuilding computers, he would like to learn to play guitar, driving his scooter and going to CCMA concerts.

Hiring Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license required & 18 years of age
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks
• Vehicle insurance (required to transport clients in your vehicle)
