We are currently accepting applications for the following position:
Position: Part Time Children's Foster Care Clinician
Location: Lee County; Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers, Cape Coral FL
Status: Part Time Contractor
Hours: 10-15 Hours/Week
Rate: $45-$55/hr
Qualifications: Masters Level Clinician, licensed in Florida (or registered intern).
Supervises: N/A
Independent Contractor Duties:
1. Provide in-home Therapeutic Support.
2. Work with the community-based care lead agency or the Department of DJJ to coordinate other treatment initiatives to include school performance, permanency, and reunification planning.
3. Evaluate and assess recipients who are receiving services. Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and other assessments specific to youth in care. This may be conducted in accordance with the recipient’s multi-disciplinary team and the agency’s internal Clinical Response Team.
4. Provide in-service training to foster parents in accordance with state regulations targeting skills needed to achieve treatment plan goals and objectives.
5. Conduct home visits at least once weekly for recipients in Level 1 STFC homes and at least twice weekly for recipients in Level 2 STFC homes to provide regular face to face meetings with the foster families to:
· Provide therapeutic services to assist the foster families and recipient in achieving treatment plan goals.
· Provide oversight of the performance of the foster families.
· Individual and family therapy services shall include the provision of insight-oriented cognitive behavioral or supportive therapy interventions to an individual recipient or family. Individual and family therapy may involve the recipient, the recipient’s family (without the recipient) or a combination of therapy with both recipient and family.
6. Conduct monthly visits to other community settings to observe the recipients behavioral, psychological and psychosocial progress and discuss treatment strategies and services.
7. Participate as a member of the treatment team, keeping all members informed of case status and progress.
8. Preparing and training the recipients biological or legal parents to resume care of the recipient when reunification is the goal.
9. Build positive, engaging relationships with families that motivate them while assessing areas of strength and areas of need.
10. Build trusting, engaging relationships with youth to be a source of support, an advocate and to help them identify their strengths and needs.
11. Attend Trauma-Informed Care trainings and recognize the impact of trauma on youth in care. When trauma is identified, conduct Trauma Assessment.
12. Work with youth and families in a culturally responsive, empowering manner.
13. Follow all protocols for responding to abuse and neglect allegations.
14. Provide appropriate referrals for youth requiring additional or alternative services.
15. In conjunction with treatment team members, complete intake assessments and discharge summaries for all assigned cases.
16. Develop treatment plan for youth assigned.
17. Complete quarterly treatment plan review meetings and obtain approval by the prescribing practitioner/clinical supervisor.
18. Participate in debriefing meetings regarding significant incidents.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
· Must qualify as a Licensed Practitioner of Healing Arts (LPHA) in accordance with Chapter 491, F.S. (LCSW, LMHC or Licensed Psychologist).
· A minimum of two years of experience working directly with children / families.
· Must have a minimum of 30 hours of documented training, 15 of which must be relevant to child and family treatment issues in the last two years.
