As the QC Microbiology Supervisor, you will interpret and apply regulatory guidance and industry standards in the QC microbiology department at Lifecore. You will supervise and lead QC microbiologists and technicians to ensure accurate, reproducible, and timely QC testing in support of manufacturing and ensure microbiology test methods are accurate, precise, reproducible, and compliant with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices. You’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Lead microbiology testing to support in-process product, final product, raw materials, and water for routine testing, validation testing, and stability testing
- Ensure batch release criteria established by the production schedule are met
- Manage resources required to test products in accordance with client requirements
- Manage continuous improvement programs for microbiology test methods and procedures
- Ensure staff members are adequately trained and proficient on microbiology methods and serve as an expert resource for them
- Serve as the QC microbiology representative in support of external customer relationships and both internal and external audits
This position could be a great fit for you enjoy leading and mentoring a team and have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in biology, microbiology, or related life science
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in lab applications with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in microbiology lab applications in a GMP environment
- Hands on experience in quality control testing and troubleshooting out of specification results
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop, and retain a highly motivated team
- Regulated audit experience preferred
Starting annual salary: $88,000 - $98,000
