Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Supervisor of Medical Record Audit and perform the following essential functions?
The Supervisor of Medical Record Audit (Supervisor of MRA) is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely completion of medical and death record reviews (MRR/DRR) and related auditing processes. This role ensures data integrity, compliance, and actionable reporting to support LifeGift's strategic objectives of maximizing donor potential and enhancing hospital performance. The Supervisor of MRA provides leadership, mentoring, and training for auditors while managing special projects and process improvements.
- Leadership and Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the Medical and Death Record Review Auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of MRR/DRR. Uphold the integrity and confidentiality of donor information and collaborate on developing standardized procedures for record reviews.
- Special Projects and Training: Lead special projects to enhance auditing processes, data collection, and reporting tools. Develop and maintain training resources for auditors and Donation Systems Specialists, providing support for troubleshooting related to data collection and reporting.
- Data Management and Analysis: Oversee the collection, entry, and analysis of medical record data, assessing donor potential and hospital performance. Provide detailed reports and ensure reconciliation of discrepancies between medical record and referral data.
- Collaboration and Communication: Maintain effective relationships with hospital staff, LifeGift colleagues, and external partners. Contribute insights to organizational meetings to improve departmental efficiency and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Support performance improvement initiatives, recommend enhancements to data collection and reporting, and stay current with industry standards related to organ/tissue donation and healthcare auditing.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate documentation of activities and hospital contacts, ensuring timely submission of reports and compliance. Collaborate on professional development goals with the Director of Donation Systems.
Do you have the education and experience to be a Supervisor of Medical Record Audit?
1. Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in mathematics, computer
Science, Statistics, Health Sciences, or a related discipline preferred.
2. 2-4 years of related supervisory or leadership experience in auditing, data
analysis, or healthcare operations.
3. Experience in data models, reporting packages, and analysis of large datasets.
