What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at Lifeguard Urgent Care?
- We are currently looking for PART-TIME!
- Must be FLEXIBLE with your schedule. Shifts can vary morning or closing, WEEKENDS are required. Must be able to work any shift and be able to close or open.
- Quality customer service, positive attitudes, and outgoing personality are a must!
- Interact with patients throughout entirety of visit, from intake through discharge, in professional, knowledgeable, friendly manner, providing patient with all relevant information needed, such as co-pay amounts, discharge instructions, etc.
- Collect demographics, insurance information, brief medical history from patients including reason for visit; ensure accurate entry of data into electronic health record (EHR)
- Verify insurance coverage and copays
- Collect payment for all non-covered services, copays, etc., including payments made by mail, phone.
- Maintain effective communication with other team members and work collaboratively within a team setting
- Ability to address patient questions, concerns in timely manner, including researching information and/or referring to other members of the medical team.
- Complete medical records requests in a timely manner and ensure appropriate releases of information are completed.
- Prepare registration documentation and ensure patient literature documents are available, such as referral information for primary care physicians, imaging facilities, durable medical equipment supply companies, attorneys, etc.
- Basic accounting skills and ability to maintain record keeping of patient paid income
- Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and completing orders
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Organization and time management skills to manage a variety of tasks effectively
- Possess basic understanding of standard office computer hardware and software, including printers, scanners, email, and database entry.
- Daily housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas and exam rooms to CDC recommended standards, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, sweeping and mopping.
- Availability must include nights, some weekends, and some holidays. Office is open all standard holidays, except Christmas Day.
