Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist to ensure data integrity, compliance, and optimal use across our organization. This role involves defining governance frameworks, overseeing data quality, and supporting testing of data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards. to ensure biological data accuracy and consistency
- Ensure data quality through manual testing, automated pipeline tests, and performance metrics.
- Creating detailed use cases for testing biological datasets, including edge cases for scientific accuracy.
- Extracting structured tables from scientific literature, writing test functions to catch format inconsistencies.
- Verify that platform updates perform as expected and test data integrity by helping cross-referencing the platform’s database entries with original raw data sources.
- Collaborate with teams to define data ownership, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote governance best practices and continuous improvement including documenting the data governance process.
