Position Status: Full Time
Position Summary: Leads a Gospel-focused and excellence directed post adoption support for domestic programs.
Primary Duties:
- To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
- Actively leads the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with them, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with the team, and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
- Disciples employees for the benefit of our ministry partners and clients
- Aligns team dynamics, internal and external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values
- While adhering to excellent social services standards and in compliance with Lifeline’s Core Values and Ministry Goals, leads and provides ongoing support and discipleship to adoptive parents and birth parents post adoption
- Identifies and implements opportunities to connect families and birth parents to the local church for support
- Leads post adoption specialists to provide intentional, regular follow up to adoptive families and birth moms
- Manages a caseload of adoptive families and/or birth moms
- Identifies and implements opportunities to engage post adoptive parents and birth mothers into other areas of Lifeline such as development, education and outreach.
- Conducts intentional and regular follow up to assigned caseload with focus on discipleship.
- Manages post communication in open adoption by organizing process, assisting in mediation and creating efficiency.
- Plan post events for birth moms (such as support groups, retreats etc.) in coordination with the pregnancy counseling team.
- Collaborates with Reunion Manager on post support for birth moms.
- Provide post placement support to birth moms when their original/local pregnancy counselor is not available.
- Manage/triage adoptive family crisis by providing intake, referrals, and resources with focus of connecting families to LCS counseling and education services.
- Works collaboratively with the domestic adoption and pregnancy counseling programs to ensure program goals and best practices are implemented in post adoption support.
- Able to instruct and train in both continuing education and training settings.
- Maintains good working relationships with the leadership and staff, including resolving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed fashion.
- Represents the ministry in a professional manner in and away from the office.
- Assisting in agency-related events, including the annual staff retreat, the annual dinner, anniversary celebrations, across all Lifeline programs
- Maintains Social Work License and state-required annual training hours.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or member of the Executive Team.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Social Work
Experience:
at least 2 years’ experience in a child placement agency
Licensure:
Graduate or certifies social work license from the applicable state board of licensing
