Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist and Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role involves interacting with patients, managing appointments, rooming patients, taking vitals, communicating with the providers and ensuring the smooth operation of the front office. A strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures is very helpful
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments while managing the daily calendar efficiently.
- Collect patient information, including vital signs, medication administration details, and insurance information.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Provide administrative support to medical staff, including handling correspondence and filing documents.
- Assist in coordinating patient care for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Collaborate with various departments within the facility, including OR and Level I Trauma Center teams.
- Address patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and general information about the practice.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical administration is a plus.
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care practices.
- Familiarity with coding systems relevant to internal medicine and emergency medicine.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
