Full Time Claims Processing Specialist:
Looking for a detail-oriented, efficient individual to perform all claims processing functions. Responsible for all steps in claims processing, including reviewing, researching, processing and managing claims in accordance with contracts, Agency policy and regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Must have good computer skills
- Be able to work well within a team environment
- Previous claims processing experience is preferred

- Responsibilities
- Function as a member of the claims team
- Primary job functions are assuring accurate and timely reception, scheduling, charge and data entry, report preparation, filing and record keeping as well as claims specific duties.
- In addition, collects co-pays/co-insurances, verifies benefits, receives and performs calls to patients.
- Completes new patient and updated paperwork with clients.
- Works with the state and commercial insurances for payment.
- Performs reception functions and assures that the telephones are answered and patients/visitors are greeted in a timely, courteous and professional manner
- Performs registration functions and assures timely, efficient and customer-friendly registration system
- Has to be able to evaluate each registration/admission and be alerted to potential problems, including pre-certification or financial assistance for the patient
- Processes insurance eligibility and benefits verification for patients
- Processes insurance pre-authorizations for patients
- Accurately records authorization specifics into CIS and monitors frequency limitations of benefit
- Assists in resolving account denials
- Keeps prior authorization up-to-date and follows-up on aging requests
- Works with therapists to resolve pre-billing edits to ensure timely filing and clean-claim requirement
- Provides great customer service in a busy, multitasking, fast paced environment
