How You Will Make an Impact

The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator is responsible for the improvement of learning opportunities through the provision of instructional leadership. This position will manage curriculum development and collaborate with regional leadership on curriculum implementation and support instruction for all subject areas and delivery modes and assist in reviewing externally produced content and resources. This position will be involved with planning and design of course content and assessments for a specific subject area(s), curriculum innovation, design, pedagogy and research to ensure the development and maintenance of the highest quality courses for students and its clients / partners.

  • Coordinate planning, designing, and development of course content and assessments
  • Coordinate the integration of new technology into the curriculum, carefully assessing teaching methods and offering suggestions on ways to improve the overall educational experience
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to seek out and design innovative learning materials for students
  • Develop short and long-term goals for the curricular area with an emphasis on K-12th grade alignment and articulation
  • Review course and content data making recommendations regarding revisions
  • Plan and implement curriculum / instruction staff development programs for school staff
  • Coordinate the instructional materials adoption process
  • Work with the curriculum development team to produce organizational content including new state expansion
  • Provide advice and counsel for teachers and principals on matters pertaining to instruction
  • Provide ongoing instructional support and classroom management assistance for teachers
  • Focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction
  • Update and maintain organization technologies in the area of curriculum and instruction
  • Research new and innovative curriculum practices
  • Stay current with curricular trends and changes in State Education standards
  • Maintain professional membership(s) and disseminate appropriate information from national and state education agencies and organizations
  • Administrative duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of team members and oversee their daily activities
  • Qualifications

    SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC :

  • Competency of current trends and issues in public K-12th education with focus on at-risk students
  • Understanding of current public education curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Strong commitment to team-work, problem-solving, and collaboration
  • Ability to take initiative, independent judgment and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with a variety of professionals
  • Ability to direct and coordinate academic achievement remedies for targeted populations
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct oral presentations to convey information to large groups of people
  • Ability to meet professional obligations and deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely
  • Ability to learn and use new software and technologies
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor Degree required. Masters Degree preferred
  • Valid California Teaching Credential required; Valid CA Administrative Services Credentialed Preferred
  • Prior teaching experience required
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Experience with varied education software
  • Intermediate or Advanced, or Expert skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • TRAVEL : Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Mental Demands : high workflow management, high project coordination, high people engagement
  • Finger Dexterity : using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
  • Talking : especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
  • Average Hearing : able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Average Visual Abilities : ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
  • Physical Strength : sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs)
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
  • Salary : $106,000 - $127,200
