Position Summary:
LifeMoves | Supportive Parking for RVs program provides a safe location for individuals and couples living in their RVs to stay overnight while receiving individual case management, food, and services. LifeMoves seeks a professional and dynamic Program Director to oversee our San Jose Supportive Parking for RVs program. Under the direction of the Director of Interim Supportive Housing for Santa Clara County, the Program Director will be responsible for the day to day management and operation of the center. The Program Director supervises staff, interns, and volunteers, and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services that help individuals experiencing homelessness to return to permanent housing.
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for delivery of services in an ethical, professional and effective manner
- Full oversight of staff at one location in San Jose: hiring, training, supervision and facilitation of staff meetings
- Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms and ensure their implementation
- Develop and implement annual program plan in collaboration with other staff members
- Develop and monitor an annual program budget
- Supervise the collection, compilation, and submission of all program statistics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports submission to senior administrative team; ensuring all reports meet funding and legal requirements
- Coordinate program development in the following areas: job development, follow-up program, donations, food services, volunteers, recreational activities for clients, and other areas as needed
- Supervise case management staff and, at times, provide direct services to clients
- Ensure development and facilitation of, workshops, and support groups as needed
- Address client appeals and grievances
Qualifications
Position Qualifications
- Masters/Doctoral degree in social work, psychology or related field a plus
- Minimum of two years prior experience working with individuals who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, who suffer from mental health, and/or chronic and persistent substance abuse disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with community partners
- Understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals and other marginalized populations in crisis
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Experience working with mentally ill and dually diagnosed clients highly desirable
- Automobile, valid drivers license and clean driving record required.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
- Bi-lingual Spanish language capabilities a plus
Physical Activity Requirements:
- Ability to lift/support at least 30 lbs. as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop and bend frequently
- Ability to sit and keyboard as needed
