How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:
The Manager, LifeSciences In Vitro Toxicology is responsible for operational planning and execution, managing staffing and resources, participating, and leading laboratory science initiatives, and driving continuous improvements. Partners within the organization and influences other key stakeholders to help drive results. Manages activities of cell culture, assay development, and study design. Assists the Executive Director with project management, data analysis, and report writing.
What you’ll do:
- Operations and Planning: Perform and manage completion of service projects for clients. Develop new methods and approaches to address client needs. Establish and validate new cell-based assays. Work with the Executive Director on client reports and communicate experimental designs. Compile data, results, and suggestions and present to management for review. Drive the execution of business plans and projects for assigned location(s) and business unit.
- Project Management: Oversee all laboratory projects and communicate any concerns or issues with Management. Maintain study schedules and ensure lab staff meets appropriate deadlines. Work with junior lab staff and provide assistance and guidance.
- Lab/Personnel Management: Set requirements and expectations for direct reports to improve lab operations and efficiency. Develop and train staff on SOPs and other established quality control metrics. Measure and evaluate performance, provide feedback, and drive performance accountability among team.
- Safety and Quality: Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and performance of operations within assigned locations(s). Work with Quality Assurance to maintain GLP compliance with laboratory operations.
- KPIs: Monitor key performance indicators including financial metrics. Investigate budget variances and adjust operations or recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Inventory Management Manage inventory (cell vials, tissue, media products, supplies, reagents, equipment acquisition, equipment preventative maintenance and production documentation maintenance) to include oversight of shipping and logistics (supplies, paperwork, SOP documentation, physical picking/packing/shipping).
What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):
- Master’s Degree – Life Sciences or related experience in cell-based biology
- THREE (3) years supervisory/management experience
- FIVE (5) years related experience in cell-based assays. PCR, cell culture, and/or cell biology
Preferred:
- FIVE (5) years supervisory/management experience
- EIGHT (8) years related experience in operations, contract research organizations
