TITLE: PROTECTIVE SERVICES REGIONAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Protective Services Regional Program Director is responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the Protective Services Department. The Regional Program Director has direct responsibility for implementation and daily operation of the program in Berkshire and Franklin Counties and the North Quabbin area to ensure it operates for the maximum benefit of individuals served through program oversight and on-going collaboration with other members of the agency staff, the community and the statewide Protective Services network. The role encompasses compliance with regulations, policies and procedures for operations as defined by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Masters or higher degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least two years of experience in counseling, casework, case management, preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention role. Supervisory experience a plus. or
Bachelors degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology plus at least three years of experience in counseling. Supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and administrative oversight of the Protective Services Program.
- Oversee the hiring and training of staff.
- Ensure there is a back-up plan to assure department effectiveness during periods of unexpected vacancies and high volume.
- Provide direct supervision of Protective Services Supervisors to assure program compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for effective casework interventions.
- Oversee screening decisions and provide final decisions regarding any complex situations. Provide back-up for the Screening Supervisor as needed.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality improvement activities including file audits, data analysis, report monitoring, surveys, and tests of change to assure compliance with regulations and implementation of effective case work interventions.
- Routinely evaluate the strengths and areas for improvement of Supervisors and staff. Conduct annual evaluations. Periodically observe staff in the field.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide consultation to other agency staff.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships in the community including relationship building, problem-solving, resource development, and representing the agency at assigned meetings.
- Provide mandated reporter training to staff and external partners.
- Maintain documentation, record management, and accurate reports as required.
- Oversee on-call staffing, trainings, and resource management. Provide back-up.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION:
The Protective Services Regional Program Director reports to the Director of Client Services.
The Protective Services Regional Program Director supervises the Protective Services and Screening Supervisors.
