• And much more…Position Summary : Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a per diem, or as needed, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in our Med Surg department. Patients range from geriatric to neonatal. Incumbent will predominately working various open 12-hours shifts. Scheduling will change based on the needs of the department.Primary responsibilities include providing direct and individualized care to patients alongside the Registered Nurse to include but not limited to : § Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patient's charts.§ Observes patients, charting, and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.§ Answers patients calls and determines how to assist them.§ Measures and records patient's vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.§ Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.§ Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans, and modifies care, and implements interventions.§ Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.§ Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.§ Records food and fluid intake and output.Minimum Qualifications : Education : Completion of an approved LPN program and successfully completion the NCLEX-PN.License and Certifications : Must have a current NV LPN License prior to hire. American Heart Association BLS (or CPR program) upon hire.
