Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with IDD in a home setting.
- Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and safety of all residents.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to the appropriate staff.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each participant's needs.
- Facilitate skill development activities that promote independence and self-awareness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment.
- Prepare meals that cater to dietary restrictions while promoting healthy eating habits.
- Administer CPR and first aid when necessary, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience in direct support or caregiving roles, particularly within group homes or similar settings.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of participant information.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to monitor vital signs and respond appropriately to health concerns.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional first-aid training is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants, families, and team members.
