The Patient Access Specialist position at LifeScape serves as the primary contact for all patients requesting services within our Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic – Rise Custom Solutions, in Rapid City, South Dakota. The following are some of the exciting, yet challenging tasks our Patient Access Specialists may complete at work:
- Respond to telephone requests for services and inquiries, and communicate with assigned staff to facilitate requested services
- Obtain necessary paperwork upon patient arrival and assure completion of all necessary forms
- Schedule appointments (evaluations and recurring treatments) for outpatient services, including but not limited to:
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Speech-language pathology
- Behavior therapy
- Clinical psychology
- Orthotics
- Prosthetics
- Modify appointments for patients/families as requested
- Perform related duties to include:
- Greeting patients and family members
- Checking in
- Reviewing schedules
- Making charts
- Entering information into the database
- Maintaining or updates information as needed in the EMR
- Consult with providers, nurses, supervisors, and other appropriate resources to resolve complex patient needs or scheduling issues
- Provide support to billing staff as needed

Requirements
Education and Experience
High School diploma/GED is required. Any prior admissions experience is preferred. Any prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or other chronic health conditions is also preferred.

Experience
