Job Summary
Busy professional mental health practice searching for a dependable, team-oriented administrative person to provide reception and client support services. This position also requires gathering vitals (blood pressure, weight, height) for our psychiatry patients (we provide training). Our practice provides psychotherapy, psychological testing, and psychiatric services to a voluntary outpatient population. This full-time position will complement our existing full time administrative staff of 6 people.
We have several adorable dogs that work in our offices to help our clients feel comfortable. Therefore, comfort with dogs is a requirement of the job!
This position requires between 36-40 hours weekly and is an in-office position. On occasion, overtime may be offered but is not required. Must be willing to work 2 evenings a week, and appreciate working in a busy but peaceful, fun, and respectful environment.
Our administrative staff supports and collaborates with our clinical staff of 16 mental health professionals. This is an excellent position for anyone interested in learning more about mental health or medical office procedures. The right candidate will grow within our practice and have opportunities to learn new skills.

Responsibilities and Duties
This position will be a second receptionist at our front desk as well as a psychiatric assistant. Job duties include greeting clients for appointments, accepting payments for services, answering phones, obtaining vitals from patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, communicating appointment information to clinical staff, planning events, light cleaning, and alerting clinicians of the arrival of their clients. This person will serve as a welcoming presence for our clientele and as indispensable support for clinical staff. Additional duties and responsibilities may be added or changed depending upon the skills and interests of the candidate chosen.
Qualifications and Skills
Mental health or medical office experience and/or a college degree is a plus, but not required. Familiarity with managed care benefits/verifications/authorizations would be beneficial. We will also prioritize candidates who are experienced with office productivity software, various technical applications, and a network environment.
The right candidate will have a warm and welcoming personality with the ability to put others at ease. Other skills we are looking for include effective communication, discretion and excellent boundaries, sensitivity, good organizational skills, comfort with technology, ability to self-direct and tolerate interruptions, strong work ethic, self-control, self-awareness, and the ability to follow thru with client needs.
