LifeServe has an exciting opportunity for a MT/MLS/MLT-certified leader who wants to put their skills to use to further work that positively impacts the local community. We are seeking interested candidates for Hospital Services Testing Supervisor.
The Hospital Services Testing Supervisor supervises team members to ensure reference immunohematology, laboratory testing, molecular testing, quality control, and training functions are met by managing all processes, functions, and tasks that are related to:
- Accurate, timely laboratory results and/or transportation of blood products and samples.
- Quality and Training developments and/or plans for department team members.
- SOP/document creation and control.
- Problem investigation and/or resolution of challenges identified during the manufacturing, testing, and/or samples.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises, communicates, and assesses that support services personnel and laboratory personnel perform assigned duties in compliance with all organization policies, processes, and procedures.
- Leads and performs decision making duties for laboratory processes and activities and support services activities.
- Performs technical duties for all reference laboratory and/or molecular testing needs and support services activities.
- Performs final review of patient and donor workups.
- Provides expertise and maintains availability to handle all questions regarding patient lab workups and/or donor testing processes/results.
- Provides the required oversight and interaction with appropriate departments to implement new programs like Cellular Therapy.
- Oversees the duties, functions and reporting for molecular testing.
- Maintains staff schedules to ensure department coverage.
- Evaluates and prioritizes of daily/weekly workload for team members.
- Performs and documents quality control, calibration, and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with writing, review, and evaluation of SOPs.
- Assist with validation of new equipment and processes.
- May travel to alternate work sites as needed.
- Authority to recommend personnel decisions such as hiring, promotion, performance evaluation, coaching, disciplinary action, and terminations.
- Facilitates team member development by providing feedback, coaching and mentoring with the coordination of management.
- Ensures team members have adequate training to perform designated duties.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Medical Technology (MT), or Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS) certification required.
- Specialist in Blood Bank Technology (SBB) preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years transfusion service or clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Medical Technology (MT), or Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS).
- Specialist in Blood Bank Technology (SBB), preferred.
