SUMMARY :
LifeServe Blood Center is the 12th largest supplier of blood products in the nation, with approximately 350 team members, 16 locations, and operations spanning four states. The Director of Public Relations and Marketing is critical to our growth and success. This leadership role directs and manages LifeServe's visibility and community outreach through various public relations, marketing and communications efforts. The Director of Public Relations and Marketing works closely with the recruitment team to identify recruitment strategies and marketing efforts for mobile and donor center collection operations and carries out marketing plans and actions. The Director helps to create a collaborative environment that allows team members to work together to drive the mission and vision of the organization to ensure we are increasing customer value, growing in a smart and efficient manner, driving operational efficiency, inspiring the talent base, and continually reinventing the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for planning, directing, staffing, and the controlling of a distinct department or functional unit. Overseeing, administering and controlling through direct supervision and delegation within their own department and associated staff within their own department responsible for marketing, visibility, and public relations directives.
- Direct all marketing initiatives based upon LifeServe's mission (to donors, hospital customers, and other team members) throughout the LifeServe service collection territory.
- Coordinate and manage public relations, marketing and communication activities that support the achievement of blood collection goals and promoting the visibility and brand of the organization.
- As a keeper of the LifeServe brand, this role will also have oversight of the Volunteer Program to ensure PR and Marketing tactics are incorporated into volunteer activities and behaviors, in an effort to further our mission.
- Provide analysis and reports for public relations, marketing, and communication tactics that drive decision-making taking into consideration cost-effectiveness, strategic targeting, return on investment, and operational performance.
- Provide oversight and management of integrated marketing and communication efforts including maintaining vendor relationships and contacts.
- Work closely with Recruitment Department to identify recruitment strategies and marketing efforts for mobile and donor center collection operations and carry out marketing plans and actions.
- Plan, organize, attend, and communicate special events on behalf of the organization.
- Actively promote the concept of customer service and personally adhere to those principles.
- Maintain confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, team members, financial and proprietary records and information at all times.
- Manage the content and functionality of the organization's website and intranet site and act as the liaison with website vendors. Also, manage the functionality and content of all integrated marketing efforts and act as the liaison with marketing platform vendor.
- Write, create, and oversee the distribution of organization news releases, public service announcements, newsletters, and special promotional mailings and maintains accurate media contact list for service / collection territory. At times, required to serve as media spokesperson for various topics.
- Responsible for managing the development and creation of all marketing and publicity materials needed by the organization as well as managing the inventory of such items.
- Responsible for making frequent decisions and developing strategies regarding public relations, donor marketing, and volunteer operations in collaboration with the VP of Operations.
- Oversee and manage the Online Store for team members and donors, and is responsible for maintaining the inventory levels of items.
- Conduct public speaking engagements to enhance the visibility of the organization as well as provide tours and / or education for the organization. Also, may conduct training sessions and educational sessions to internal staff for promotional events, marketing tools, and / or integrated marketing efforts.
