LifeServe Blood Center is a non-profit, community-based blood center that has served the needs of local hospitals and patients in our regions since 1947. As one of the 15 largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe provides blood products to more than 175 hospitals primarily in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Illinois.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of supplies to the extended locations and mobile blood drives of LifeServe Blood Center, as well as, performing general facilities and grounds maintenance as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure appropriate receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of supplies and equipment received.
- Conduct receiving inspection of supplies and equipment received.
- Coordinate the return of damaged supplies and equipment to the vendor for repair or replacement.
- Prepare supplies and equipment for deliveries to extended sites and mobile operations.
- Ensure storage areas are clean and orderly, and that supplies are stored and rotated appropriately using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Coordinate of the daily activities and duties of the volunteers in the purchasing department.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to extended sites as needed.
- Perform general facilities and grounds maintenance.
- Maintain regular attendance and availability.
- Maintain confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, employee, financial and proprietary records and information at all times.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 2 to 4 year’s previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control and maintenance experience is required
- Current driver's license and motor vehicle report meeting insurability requirements required
- Good computer skills
