Description
The Director of Procurement and Projects is responsible for leading and overseeing all procurement activities and capital improvement initiatives within LIFESHARE BLOOD CENTER. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while simultaneously managing a portfolio of capital improvement projects critical to the organization's success. The Director will develop and implement procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and lead project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Lead the strategic sourcing process, including market research, vendor identification and evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring performance meets contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Oversee the procurement of all goods and services, including equipment, supplies, and professional services.
- Develop and manage the annual procurement budget and track expenditures.
- Implement and maintain a contract management system to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and opportunities within the procurement process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
- Lead and manage the central warehouse team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and closure of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.
- Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders regularly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, budgets, and reports.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends in both procurement and project management.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively-responsible experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and project management.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies.
- Experience in managing complex projects, including budget development and tracking.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
