Regional Operations Director

LifeShare Blood Center is seeking an Operations Director to oversee regional blood collection and donor recruitment operations. The Director will develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for donor recruitment and blood collections in the donor center and community-based activities; direct, develop and coach teams for achievement of established goals and KPI’s; develop relationships with community leaders and groups to promote our mission and business needs; ensure operations adhere to standards and regulations governing the blood banking industry; and model LifeShare’s mission and values, integrating them into daily decisions, behaviors and actions

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in healthcare administration, business or operations management, including supervisory experience in the direction and coaching of other employees. This individual champions teamwork, communication and continuous improvement and has a passion for service to our community.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, plus
- At least five (5) years of experience in operations management or healthcare administration; prior Blood Banking or healthcare management experience is a plus; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job duties.
- Must have demonstrated supervisory experience in the direction, control and planning of the activities of other personnel.
- A working knowledge and understanding of FDA regulations governing Blood Banking, AABB standards, OSHA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for all Center Departments and activities is preferred.
- Must have demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of an operating budget.
- Highly organized and demonstrate initiative in fulfilling established duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to deal with the public and employees in a tactful, professional manner, maintaining a high level of confidentiality when appropriate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is generally performed in office environment with frequent presence throughout the center.
- Moderate risk of exposure to infectious diseases from blood and blood products.
- Requires ability to work a flexible schedule and availability for response to critical issues after hours and on weekends.
- Requires travel within the community and to other centers for meetings; must possess a valid Class D or E driver’s license and be insurable by our commercial auto insurance carrier.
