Description
Operates a Company vehicle to transport materials and supplies between Central Supply and other work locations to facilitate smooth business operations. Assists with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock. Sorts and places materials or items on to racks and shelves. Collects items from throughout the warehouse and prepares and completes warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives, secures, distributes, and delivers inter-office mail, supplies or blood products between locations on a daily basis.
- Operates Company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner to ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and state driving laws. Reports any accidents or violations of policies, procedures or driving laws to supervisor immediately.
- Provides routine maintenance and service to all vehicles operated, such as fueling, inspecting fluid levels, condition of tires, belts, lights, etc.; makes minor repairs necessary to ensure safe operation at all times. Reports major repairs or maintenance needed to supervisor when noted.
- Responsible and accountable for all mail, materials and supplies from the time of receipt until delivery to authorized individuals at point of delivery.
- Models LifeShare’s mission and values, integrating them into daily decisions, behaviors and actions.
- Promotes cooperation and communication within a team to achieve Company and departmental goals and deliverables.
- Meets and exceeds customer expectations and adhere to established quality practices while seeking to improve work performance.
- Completes other assignments and duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver’s license and 5 years of satisfactory driving history
- Must be dependable, punctual and have effective communication skills
- Must demonstrate a positive approach toward customers and other staff members, acting in a highly professional manner at all times
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift equipment, boxes and supplies up to 50 lbs., unassisted
- Must be able to perform duties which require sitting and driving motor vehicles for long periods of time without relief
- Must be able to work irregular hours, often in excess of 8 hours per day
- Work involves potential exposure to infectious diseases from blood and blood products being transported by vehicle
